1Department of Water Resources, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Beijing , P.R. China 2Southern Global Change Program, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC , USA Abstract: Serious soil erosion problems exist . Most previous research on water conservation strategies involves price incentives. Literature on the price elasticity of water use – impact of water price on water demand – is so well developed that meta-analysis is now possible (e.g., see the meta-analysis of 64 previous studies by Dalhuisen et al., ).
The book discusses the background to this issue and the measures to be taken over the next years to overcome some of the difficulties that can be foreseen, and the means of avoiding others. The American Society of Agronomy, Crop Science Society of America, and Soil Science Society of America publish scholarly research, reference titles, and periodicals in support of the agronomy, crop, and soil science fields—timely and relevant content that is valuable to a wide range of audiences.

Soil conservation practice include soil management, crop management, engineering, range management and forestry operation Discover the world's research 17+ million members. some soil and water conservation (SWC) techniques on soil productivity and bean yield in Nyamasheke District; characterized by steep topography, higher precipitation and intensive agricultural activities.
The study was conducted at Birembo watershed located in Macuba Sector. The specific objectives were (1) To identify common SWC techniques.
The rate and quantity of evaporation from the soil surface is a complicated process affected by many soil characteristics, tillage and environmental interactions (Lal & Shukla, ).Under conservation tillage, higher water content in the topsoil and more plant residues on the soil surface, resulting in declined evaporation, have been linked with the lower soil temperature (Rasmussen, ).Cited by: This book presents a comprehensive and up-to-date overview on soils of Taiwan.
It includes sections on soil research history, climate, geology, geomorphology, major soil types, soil maps, soil properties, soil classification, soil fertility, land use and vegetation, soil management, soils and humans, soils and industry, future soil issues.
Abstract. Detailed inventory data (n=) of the soil organic carbon up to 30 cm depth have been used to estimate the forest soil’s carbon content in altitudinal vegetation zones that are occurring in the Czech effect of global warming represented by the use of different emission scenarios on the soil organic carbon content was investigated.
The preservation and sustainable development of soil and water resources is one of the basic principles for the development of China. Throughout the course of history, all the social improvement and economic development are deeply concerned with soil loss and ecological environmental protection.
It is now a common sense that soil and water conservation is the safety insurance for national. SCImago Journal Rank (SJR): SJR is a prestige metric based on the idea that not all citations are the same.
SJR uses a similar algorithm as the Google page rank; it provides a quantitative and a qualitative measure of the journal’s impact. The Indian Journal of Soil Conservation is published thrice in a year (April, August and December) by the Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists.
The journal is abstracted by CAB, AGRIS, INSDOC, ENVIS, SAIC, Indian Bibl. Centre and others. The objectives of the Indian Association of Soil and Water Conservationists are:.
To promote and disseminate the knowledge, practice and. Soil conservation Service. Show abstract In commercial production, cereal straw (mainly wheat straw) is commonly used as substrate for P. ostreatus , although several agricultural by. Soil conservation stores more of the runoff from excess rainfall in the reservoir of the soil for subsequent crop use; and this much water is kept out of streams, thereby contributing to flood reduction.
Today these techniques of soil and water conservation are being prac- ticed in many countries with much benefit to great numbers of people. This Book of Abstracts that assembled relevant publications, student theses and research reports on area ex-closure, participatory forest management, plantation forests, agroforestry, and management of dry forests and woodlands was compiled in response to the request.
Abstract. The importance of soil humus carbon in the ecological and environmental domains can be hardly overestimated. The complex and heterogeneous chemical nature of the soil Humeome has for a long time baffled the development of man-made technologies for the control of soil carbon.
J SOIL WATER CONSERV)Journal description. The Journal of Soil and Water Conservation (JSWC) is a bi-monthly journal of natural resource conservation research, news, and perspectives.
ISBN: ; DOI: (doi: ) 1. Front Matter Citation: Pages i-xvii (doi: /swcef) in Soil and Water Conservation. Soil and Water Conservation Society Conference Abstract Book. Runoff and phosphorus loads from two Iowa fields with and without applied manure, - (Abstract Only).
The Journal of Soil and Water Conservation (JSWC) is a multidisciplinary journal of natural resource conservation research, practice, policy, and journal has two sections: the A Section containing various departments and features, and the Research Section containing peer-reviewed research papers.
This study assessed the N 2 O, CO 2 and CH 4 emissions from soils in response to land use (forestland vs. cropland) and agroforestry system type (hedgerow vs. shelterbelt) through a laboratory incubation experiment. We found that the global warming potential was higher in forestland soil than in cropland soil within agroforestry systems, and higher in forestland soil of the hedgerow compared.
Additional Features. In addition to indexing thousands of core scientific journals, CAB Abstracts offers extensive coverage of non-journal literature from around the world including annual reports, general reports, books, conference proceedings, field notes and much more.
This database features comprehensive subject indexing with the CAB Thesaurus – CABI’s controlled vocabulary tool. 75 7.
