The book was more of a moral story while this was just a plain slasher teen flick, but over all I would say that I Know What You Did Last Summer was a decent horror flick.   Both the movie and the book offer a case of mistaken identity (in the book it is the killer, the movie it is the original victim). Finally, in both it all begins with a letter sent to Julie, written in black marker with no return address. Inside is a note that says, “I know what you did last summer.”.

The main character's name is Julie. Julie was scared because she started thinking about the past after receiving a letter that said, "I know what you did last summer." Julie would not talk to anyone about it. Julie is a very person. Julie at first did not want to talk about what was going on. Hey everybody. This is another cheesy book trailer I made for a language arts project. The book is "I Know What You Did Last Summer" by Lois Duncan. Hope you enjoy!:). Parents need to know that I Know What You Did Last Summer is a horror movie about four teens who attempt to hide the evidence of a drunken hit-and-run they perpetrated only to find that the man they thought they killed seems to be alive and all too eager for revenge.

Duncan's parents were the noted magazine photographers Lois Steinmetz and Joseph Janney Steinmetz/5. Last year before the "accident" she was a bubbly peppy now you can see in her face something dinner Julie's mother says she has another letter without a return adress all it says is "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER".

I Know What You Did Last Summer was made into a very successful but much more graphic movie; a Q & A with Duncan included in the new edition has her describe her shock about what they transformed her work into.

Some changes were necessary -- indeed, the fundamental twist in the book couldn't (readily) be replicated on screen -- but readers.

In the same mail as Julie's acceptance to Smith College comes an anonymous note with the menacing reminder: I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER. Though the weight on Julie's conscience seems to have left her more apathetic than anguished, the note sends her into a frenzy because what Julie -- and her former boyfriend Ray, and his friends Helen and Barry -- did was no harmless frolic; in a moment.

Lois Duncan really didn’t like the film adaptation of her book, I Know What You Did Last Summer. In fact, according to the Q&A section at the back of the revised edition of her book, she said the movie was a “shock” to her: “ I had expected it to be my story, and it wasn’t.
